The short version: your lists live in your own browser unless you choose to sign in. There are no ads, no analytics, no tracking, and nothing is ever sold. If you do sign in, your lists and your email address are stored so they can sync — and you can delete all of it yourself, at any time, from inside the app.

Venture Tasks is a free app made by D3 Apps & Interactive. This page explains, in plain language, exactly what it stores and where.

If you don’t sign in

Everything you enter — pages, sections, tasks, grocery items, calendar events, client names and values, and anything in Recently deleted — is saved only in your browser’s local storage on that device. It isn’t sent to us or anywhere else. Your settings (theme, font, currency, reminder preferences) are stored the same way.

If you sign in for sync

Accounts are optional. If you create one, the app stores:

Your settings, including an AI provider key if you add one, are never uploaded — they stay in the browser where you entered them. The one exception is if you turn on push reminders (below): that device’s reminder choices are sent so the server knows when to remind you.

Shared lists and calendars

When you share a list or calendar, everyone you invite can see and edit its contents, and members of a shared Family Calendar can see each other’s email addresses (so you know who’s on it). Only share with people you trust with that list.

If you create a live calendar link, anyone who has that link can see your due dates and events in their calendar app without signing in. Keep it private, like a password.

Optional AI co-pilot

The AI features are off unless you connect your own API key from Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI (ChatGPT), or Google (Gemini). When you use one, the relevant task text is sent directly from your browser to that provider — never through us — and is handled under that provider’s own privacy terms.

Voice commands

Voice commands use your browser’s built-in speech recognition. Depending on your browser, the audio may be processed by the browser maker (for example, Chrome sends it to Google and Safari to Apple) to turn it into text. Venture Tasks only ever receives the resulting text, and never records or stores audio.

Reminders and notifications

By default, reminders are worked out entirely on your device. Notifications are shown by your browser or phone and only if you turn them on and grant permission — you can turn them off any time in the app’s Settings or your device settings.

If you’re signed in and turn on Push reminders to this device, reminders can arrive even when the app is closed. To do that, the app saves to your account: that device’s push address (issued by your browser’s push service — Google for Chrome and Android, Apple for Safari, iPhone and iPad, Mozilla for Firefox), its time zone, its browser name, and your reminder choices. Once a minute the server checks your synced lists for anything due and sends it through that push service. The message is end-to-end encrypted, so the push service delivers it but can’t read it. Turning push off, logging out, or deleting your account removes the device’s registration.
